Drum school

Private lesson

Private lessons take place in the studio on an acoustic drum kit, with a fully personalized program based on the student’s skill level, learning pace, and musical aspirations.

Beginners will focus on:

  • Understanding the drum kit

  • Proper technique (hands & feet)

  • Basic music notation and rhythm exercises

  • Groove and coordination development

For advanced students, we cover:

  • Different drumming styles and genre-specific techniques

  • Breaks and fills

  • Speed and coordination exercises

  • Playing with a metronome and backing tracks

  • Band performance techniques

Lessons also help drummers looking to refine their skills, join a band, or prepare for music school auditions. If you need to fix technical issues from previous training, we’ll work through them systematically.

Our lessons incorporate modern and effective drumming methods, including:

  • Hand techniques: Moeller, Gladstone, Free Stroke

  • Foot techniques: Heel Down, Heel Up, Full Step, Slide

  • Influential drumming systems: T. Igoe, G. Chaffee, G. Chester, T. Reed, and more

Group Lessons

Our group lessons allow students of different skill levels to train together while receiving individualized instruction.

Each 120-minute session includes:

  • Hands-on instruction with a teacher

  • Independent practice time to reinforce concepts

  • Technique assessment and corrections

Silent practice pads help maintain focus while allowing for precise execution of techniques without distractions. The primary goal is to build solid hand and foot technique, a key element for developing clean and controlled drumming.

As students progress, they transition to an acoustic drum kit, applying their refined technique to full-kit coordination and groove development. This course suits both beginners and experienced drummers looking to enhance their technical foundation.

Course Includes:

  • Proper drum throne positioning, grip variations, and their applications

  • Gladstone & Moeller techniques and their use in real-world drumming

  • Rudiments: Singles, doubles, paradiddles, flams, and their application behind the kit

  • Reading drum notation and sight-reading exercises

  • Metronome training and developing timekeeping skills

  • Foot technique: Hi-hat and bass drum control, single and double pedal exercises

  • Playing to backing tracks in various musical styles

Students attend classes twice a week (120 minutes per session), ensuring consistent progress under instructor supervision. Upon completion, students can continue with private lessons for further development.

Trial lesson

During the trial lesson, you will:

  • Meet the instructor and learn about the program

  • Ask any questions you have

  • Beginners will learn how to hold drumsticks, sit correctly at the kit, and play their first rhythm

  • Get advice on practicing at home (including alternatives if you don’t have a drum kit)

  • More advanced drummers will have their skill level assessed and receive a custom training plan
